What video format are the swing files saved in?
All of our recording units save in standard AVI format.
How many videos can be stored on the camera?
Our swing recorder comes with a standard 1 GB card which will hold 45 minutes of high quality video (40-60 swings), but it can be upgraded to 4 GB or more to hold up to three hours of video (200 swings).
Does the camcorder use batteries?
The recorder uses a rechargeable battery that lasts for many hours.
How does video from the camcorder get into the computer?
The recorder comes with a USB cable for easy connection to your computer, or you can remove the memory card (SD) from the camera and place it into your computer. It is fast and simple to import videos to the Digital Pro Golf software.
How long does it take to set up the tripod to record a swing?
It literally takes just a few seconds. The tripod has no settings or locks on it. Just pull it from your bag (or golf cart) and spread the legs. That's it. Power the camera on and hit record. Two buttons and you're recording. Just hit the power button to both stop recording and turn the camcorder off. Recording on the course does not effect the pace of play.
Can the system be used at the driving range?
Absolutely! It works great on the range or at home. And both cameras are fantastic to have around the house or for any occasion. The quality of the video footage (and photos for the Casio) is fantastic, even in low light conditions.
Can I send my swings to a friend or a pro?
We make it simple and fast to do this. No e-mail attachments are involved. Just enter an e-mail address and our software takes care of the rest. The recipient receives an e-mail with a special link in it, allowing them to view your swing in a custom Digital Pro Golf swing viewer program, at absolutely no cost to them. It's fun and helpful to record swings of your playing partners and then send these swings to them for viewing at home.
Is
the camcorder weather resistant?
Our recording systems come with a weather resistant "head cover"
we provide as part of our package. If it starts raining, just keep it enclosed
in the cover. The unit can stand to get a bit wet... about as much as your
cell phone. With the head cover on, the system is protected from the elements
and from any banging around which might happen in your golf bag or in your
car.
I
am a PGA teaching pro. Will this system work for me?
We designed the system with numerous functions specifically for teaching pro's.
In fact, our package offers several opportunities to greatly increase lesson
revenue by providing an easy way to record and analyze the swings of your students
on the course... without you accompanying them. We have more and more PGA pro's
using our system daily and they are finding it an invaluable and profitable
investment.
I
am a beginner golfer. Is this too advanced for me?
Not at all! This is the easiest to use recording and swing analysis system
available today. We've built in all kinds of features to give you the information
you need to quickly improve your game. We encourage you to download and test
the software.
How
hard is the software to use?
We offer the easiest to use software in the golf sector, without question.
There is no need for a manual to use Digital Pro Golf. There are no keyboard
commands to remember and no traditional menus to study. Every feature in the
program is described in detail by simply pointing your mouse over it. All the
information you need is always at your fingertip. Learning Digital Pro Golf
is quick and easy. You'll be up and running in just minutes.
Does
the software adjust for left-handed golfers?
Yes. We include a "flip" function to horizontally flip all the "pro"
model swing videos.
I
have my own camcorder or digital camera I want to use with your system. What
are the requirements?
Any camcorder or camera which produces .avi files is compatible with our system.
Here are the main issues to consider:
- would you be comfortable taking it on the course? It needs to be compact enough to fit on the tripod and in your bag, and have controls which make it easy and quick to start recording in seconds (we never want to slow down the pace of play!)
- have you tested it by recording and replaying a golf swing? Many camcorders produce "ghosty" or fuzzing videos of a golf swing, making the videos difficult to analyze.
- does it record at 30 frames per second? Anything less is not suitable for video analysis.
- does it store the video in .avi format? This is the format our software uses when it imports video from a camcorder.
- would you be concerned about it being damaged on the course, whether through bumping around or possible weather damage?
